Tormek's handling of your personal data

At Tormek, we care about your privacy and strive to protect your personal data in a responsible manner. This policy describes what information is collected about you, why it is collected, and how the information is handled. Your information will only be used for its intended purpose and will not be shared outside of Tormek, its parent company Lagercrantz Group or suppliers relevant to the performance of our agreement with you.

Tormek's operations comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which enters into force on 25 May 2018. The new regulation replaces the Personal Data Act (PUL).

If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your name and email address in order to send the newsletter. You may also indicate the language in which you prefer to receive the newsletter.

How we use cookies

A cookie is a small text-based file that is placed on your computer, mobile phone or similar device, containing information about your browsing on the website. There are temporary cookies and persistent cookies. Temporary cookies, also known as session cookies, are stored on your device until you close your browser. Persistent cookies have an expiry date and once this date has passed, the cookie is deleted when you return to the website that created it.

Tormek uses cookies to see which pages are visited on our website. This helps us to analyse web traffic and improve our site to better suit the needs of our visitors. We use the information collected for statistical analysis only. The statistics tool cookie does not contain any information about who you are. Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a digital analytics tool that measures visits and behaviour on our website through cookies. The tool allows us to analyse how visitors use the website and how we can develop the content to optimise the visitor experience. The information collected about visitors is never used to track individuals who have visited tormek.com.

What is your information used for?

We use your address details to send your order to you. All data we collect is used to provide, perform and improve Tormek's services. Among other things, we process your personal data for the administration and delivery of purchases, i.e. in order to fulfil the contract with you. We may use your personal data if, for example, you contact us with questions, comments or complaints in order to provide you with the customer care you are entitled to under the agreement you have entered into with us.

Your personal data will only be used for the purposes stated on this page. However, we may share your personal data with third parties for the following reasons: to deliver your products to you, to send you requests for product reviews, if we have a legitimate interest in doing so, we have your consent to do so, we are legally obliged to share your personal data.

How long is the data stored?

Data about you is kept for as long as necessary to fulfil our contract with you and the purposes for which the data was collected. We also store certain personal data for reasons other than to fulfil our contract with you, for example to comply with the Annual Accounts Act or the Accounting Act. In such cases, it is the legal requirements that govern how long we keep your data.

If you have registered a machine and thus created an account, your data will be stored as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and information under "My Tormek" if you wish.

If you have registered for our newsletter, your information will be saved as long as you wish to continue receiving the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from the mailing at any time through clear links in each email. You can always re-subscribe if you wish to do so again.
