TRY THIS AT HOME

The fine-grained diamond wheel is optimized for razor-like sharpness, so we have just one small warning: There is a major risk this will become your new favorite gadget! 

  • 1. SET PREFERRED EDGE ANGLE

    17° is a good angle to start with if you are unsure of what angle to choose. A small angle will cut more easily, while a large angle will give a stronger edge. 

  • 2. SHARPEN ON BOTH SIDES

    Insert the knife into the guide. Follow the edge profile and apply gentle pressure, as if you were slicing a tomato. 

  • 3. HONE TO A FINAL FINISH

    Remove the burr and polish the knife on the honing wheel to achieve a razor-sharp edge.

Ein sehr stylischer Messerschärfer

Klein aber fein, das drückt es aus was den TormekT1 betrifft. Für den privaten Gebrauch absolut Top. Mit den Schärfgraden muss man sich am Anfang ein wenig auseinander setzen, dann funktioniert es toll. Der Preis ist hoch, jedoch die Qualität auch und wenn man jetzt selbst die Messer schleifen kann, dann armotisiert sich dieser Preis und man hat stets immer scharfe Messer zum arbeiten. Für mich war es wichtig, dass ich damit auch Keramikmesser selbst schleifen kann. Sonst ist es sehr leise und einfach in der Handhabung. Klare Weiterempfehlung

Jag skulle vilja dela med mig av några tips som kan hjälpa dig att förbättra resultatet:
- Första gången du slipar en kniv kan det ta lite längre tid att få den vass igen. Detta är ofta fallet om kniven tidigare slipats med en annan metod och du måste slipa om knivens vinkeln.

- I bästa fall ställer du in vinkeln nära eller exakt till den tidigare vinkeln och slipar sedan den första sidan med lite tryck tills du känner en råegg över hela kniveggen. Först därefter går du över till den andra sidan och slipar exakt likadant.

- För att bestämma vinkeln rekommenderar jag tusch-metoden. Vi förklarar detta på Tormeks webbsida:

- Efter slipningen bryner man bladet på kompositbrynskivan för att ta bort råeggen. Det är viktigt att vinkeln inte är för brant, annars kommer eggen att rundas av och bli slö igen. Du kan också använda tusch-metoden här.
